Assortiment de fruits séchés

A good sign of quality is large, whole pieces of fruit without visible fragments or discoloration. The consistency should be soft to slightly elastic, not hard or excessively dry. A pleasant, natural aroma also indicates freshness. By the way: If a fine, crystalline layer forms on the surface of individual fruits, this is often a case of so-called saccharification. This occurs when fruit sugar settles on the surface. This is nothing to worry about, but a completely normal process. In this case, you can enjoy the dried fruit without any concerns.

Not all fruit is the same, and this also applies to drying. Differences in color are caused by natural ripeness, differences in variety or the gentle drying process itself, during which apricots, for example, can darken slightly. These color variations are not a quality defect, but rather an indication that it is a natural product without colorants. The diversity of nature is particularly evident in blends: no two fruits are the same, and this is exactly what makes the mix so exciting, both visually and in terms of taste.

Yes, the dried fruit mix is perfect for homemade snacks that you can tailor to your taste. The fruit it contains naturally provides fructose and fiber. You can dice or puree them and combine them with oat flakes, sweet nuts or roasted cashews. Date paste, almond paste or a little honey can be used as a binding agent. This allows you to conjure up versatile snacks that you can enjoy at home, on the go or in the office. And the good thing about it: you know exactly what's in it.

The two varieties differ significantly in their production process and texture. Dried fruit, such as that found in the dried fruit mix, is usually gently dehydrated using warm air or heat from the sun. The result is a soft, slightly chewy consistency with an intense flavor. Freeze-dried fruit, on the other hand, is deep-frozen and dried under vacuum. They retain their shape and color particularly well, but become extremely light and crispy. They contain hardly any moisture, which makes them popular as a topping for muesli or yogurt. However, they are less filling than traditional dried fruit.

For a balanced dried fruit mix, taste is of course important. However, different textures, types of fruit with a natural sweetness and varieties that can be combined well are also important. Apple, apricot, pear and peach offer soft to firm textures. Pineapple and prunes, on the other hand, provide juiciness. Fruits that retain their flavor even after drying and go well together are ideal. A good mix offers variety, but remains consistent in overall taste.

Definitely! Dried fruit and nuts complement each other in taste, but also in texture: soft, fruity components meet roasted almonds, tender cashews or crunchy hazelnuts, for example. This creates an exciting interplay of sweet, subtly tart, soft and crunchy - making snacking particularly varied. Alternatively, you can also go straight for a Seeberger nut mix. The individual varieties are coordinated so that you don't have to worry about finding the right mix. Simply open the bag, combine it with the dried fruit mix and your very own personal moment of indulgence is ready.

Yes, definitely. The mix can not only be enjoyed on its own: It also proves its culinary strength in savory cuisine. Apricots, prunes and pineapple chunks in particular add a pleasant, natural sweetness to savory dishes and create aromatic accents. Dried fruit is often included in couscous salads, lentil pans or stews, where it provides a balance of flavor. You can also use individual pieces of fruit in bowls, wraps or oven dishes, for example as a sweet counterbalance to roasted vegetables, halloumi or feta. Whether classic or experimental: the dried fruit mix brings versatility to your kitchen.
